# Delete a Gateway Group

`DeleteGatewayGroup` deletes a Gateway Group owned by your account and makes it unavailable for payment routing. Static and dynamic groups can be deleted, including disabled or archived groups.

The gateways themselves are not deleted or disabled. They remain available independently. Deleting a group and removing its gateway memberships succeed or fail together.

## Request

```

The path is relative to the API base URL. Development integration uses the `/v3` prefix; `/v2` is the intended production prefix. This development contract does not establish deployment availability.

Required permission: `gateway_group:delete`. Editing permission does not grant deletion permission. The operation is available in the MCP and AI Assistant schemas.

Supply `gateway_group_id` as a 20 character RevCent ID. Use [GetGatewayGroups](./GetGatewayGroups.md) to find the group or [GetGatewayGroup](./GetGatewayGroup.md) to inspect a known group.

The request body is optional. Omit it or send:

No body properties are accepted. JSON arrays, strings, numbers, booleans and `null` are rejected.

## Result and related configuration

A successful response contains `code: 1`, `result: "Gateway group deleted."`, and `gateway_group_id` identifying the deleted group. The response also includes `api_call_id`, `api_call_unix` and `api_call_region` for the API call.

Payment profiles, projects and other group configurations are not automatically rewritten. Update configurations that reference the deleted group. The remaining gateways can be used independently or with another group.

Missing, invalid, unavailable, other-account or already-deleted group IDs return an error. Repeating a successful deletion does not produce another success.
